Abstract: Autobiography or confessional? The title is not plagiarised from the literary offering by a certain Mr. Tim Griggs, but that of a short story that has been languishing in my archives for over ten years, an ironic comment on the requirement in modern Western society for a female to be attached and the difficulties in attaining this state of “bliss”.

  1. Dearest darling Chameleon!

Those are wonderful photographs. When I look at them I can do nothing but laugh and smile. Didn’t we have a wonderful time? Thank you for being so instrumental in that happening! I really can’t wait to go back!

    love

  2. Yup, what Peg said!

(and I really must figure out how to use my camera properly, depth of field is much better in yours!)

  3. This has nothing to do with anything, but in case you didn’t notice, I recently posted some general comments about the Eccleston/Tennant “Doctor Who” series, and how they compare to the old classics.

Amazingly, my girlfriend, an old Star Trek fan from long ago, had never seen “Doctor Who” before I started Tivo-ing the new ones on BBC America/Sci-Fi Channel. She’s really been enjoying them, especially the David Tennant episodes (and “Torchwood”). I did make her watch “The Talons of Weng-Chiang” for historical reference, and I have now added most of the other older episodes to our Netflix queue (some of which *I* haven’t even seen).

Nice pics, btw. I especially like the one of the dog, but nice composition in general.

  4. The graffitti reads (something like) The Hungarian has just one home, but it is full of lying and corrupt politicians; clean them out of the country.

Just thought you’d like to know – and it IS a popular sentiment!

  5. Much appreciated, Allan, though I think a slightly more accurate rendering would read: “There is only one Hungarian homeland, but masses of corrupt and mendacious politicians – they should clear off out of our country!” (I realise it doesn’t say “országunkból”, but the sentiment of the dividing line between us and them is most definitely implied).
You might like another piece of political graffiti I took a picture of a while back:
